Yamamotokan

Yamamotokan - Tokyo

  • Description:

    • Yamamotokan is a comfortable, Japanese inn located in the Kusatsu Onsen and the guestrooms radiate an air of antiquity. The famous 'time baths' of Kusatu are a set of 3 'three minute baths' in scalding water. Because of the extreme heat anyone wishing to try the waters must first undergo a physical check-up by the bath master who will assess suitability. The water is acidic, containing iron, acid aluminum sulfate, and hydrogen sulfide. They are said to be just the thing for 'sluggish blood', and are supposed to cure baldness. Conventional baths are also available.
