Yasuda Kinen

Description:

  • A day at the races is a fun way to experience Japan away from the usual tourist spots. About 100,000 people attend this event, a major one on Japan's horse-racing calendar. You will not see individual bookmakers shouting out the odds, as at English racecourses. You have to bet at the track's official windows. Bets start at JPY100. The Yasuda Kinen, the major event of the day, is a 1,600-meter flat race open to three-year-olds and over.
