- The Alumnae Theatre is housed in what used to be Firehall #4. Built in 1900, the Firehall was adapted into a theatre in 1972, but still retains much of the charm and feel of its original purpose. The main theatre downstairs is fully equipped and can seat up to 140 people. The real delight is the studio in the attic, however, which is all exposed brick walls and wooden beams. Check the website for a list of current productions, and be sure to check out the New Ideas Festival every March, which showcases new short plays by Canadian playwrights.
