Rivoli always seems to have something going on in the evening. Sometimes the club does comedy nights, other times it has spoken word poetry. The club fits perfectly into its Queen West surroundings.

  • Description:

    • The Rivoli is an institution in Toronto. Founded in 1982 in the very place that used to house the Rivoli Theatre, a vaudeville and burlesque theatre from the 1920s, The Rivoli was at the heart of the Queen West scene in the '80s. Since then, its reputation has changed somewhat, and over the years the stage in the back room has played host to a wide range of Canadian stars, including the Barenaked Ladies, the Kids in the Hall and Sean Cullen, as well as being the first home of The Drowsy Chaperone, which went on to become a Broadway hit. Currently, they host a variety of music, comedy and spoken word events, so check the listings on their website to see what's playing. The Rivoli also has a restaurant, which serves an eclectic variety of foods, the Side Bar, and an upstairs pool hall with vintage tables. Their patio on Queen Street West is also an excellent place for people-watching.
