The Danforth

The Danforth, which refers to east-west running Danforth Avenue, is a thriving neighbourhood in Toronto's East End.  Also known as "Greektown", the Danforth is a stronghold in Toronto's Greek community — one of the largest in North America. Understandably, the neighbourhood is home to some of the city's very best in Greek restaurants and cafes. Renowned for the late hours they keep, the restaurants and clubs in the neighbourhood are major nightlife destinations for Danforth residents and Torontonians at large. Excellent eco-shopping options also abound: head to Carrot Common — the neighbourhood's environmentally-oriented shopping mall that emphasizes health food and natural products.  By day or by night, the Danforth is a lively neighbourhood, full of nourishing food and entertainment of all kinds.

The Danforth falls just east of the Don Valley Parkway and is accessible by subway — choose Broadview or Chester stations.
