Greetings Lore - Your trip to Montreal will convince you about this amazing place called Canada, because in no other place does it all come together like here. For your best experience in Montreal, walk, walk, walk streets like Boulevard Saint-Laurent, Sainte-Catherine Street, Rue Saint-Denis, and please, please don't forget to go to Mount Royal for the amazing view of this island city!
The friendly clubs here don't really start until midnight, but then they go strong until very late, so take a siesta in the afternoon, and get ready to dance all night. Check out the Tourism Montreal website for practical information and reviews of hotels, eateries, and clubs at:

The best way to travel from Montreal to Quebec City is aboard the VIA Rail Canada train, there are several each day, it takes a little over two hours to get there and it takes to right down into Vieux-Québec, where you can take a quick cab ride or even walk to most places, it is much smaller than Montreal.
My book called EYEWITNESS TOP 10 MONTREAL and QUEBEC CITY is actually online with all sorts of details about subjects travelers need to know, so you can check it out at: http://traveldk.com/montreal
Good luck and have fun!
Best Regards,
Gregory
