    • the first printing press in the Middle East, located in Qozhaya Monastery- This Monastery was founded in the year 745 AD on the slopes of the valley of Qannoubin and it was restored in 1283 AD. It had been the first Maronite school in 1624-The first printed text that we possess is The Book of Psalms, which can actually be found at the Library of the University of the Holy Spirit at Kaslik. It dates back to 1610. The printing press has Syriac characters. Several liturgical and religious books have been printed in the Monastery.
