Description:
Not as architecturally exciting as the Rica Ishavshotel, and not as upscale or as plush as the Radisson SAS, this conservative, somewhat boxy and banal-looking hotel is near Tromsø's wood-sided cathedral. It was built in 1969, and most of its rooms were renovated during 2006. The best rooms are positioned on the uppermost (sixth) floor. Accommodations are warm and comfortable, each with contemporary, blond-toned wooden furniture, wooden floors, and off-white walls. Bigger rooms come with a sofa that can be converted to a bed, extra beds for children are available, children 7 and under stay free when sharing a room with their parents, and kids 8 to 12 get a 50% discount. The hotel is entirely nonsmoking.
