- With chef Bill Arnoff at the helm of this rather small, but very popular Italian restaurant, Pianeta (which means "planet" in Italian) has soared to new heights. Located in downtown Truckee, the restaurant is entered through some stairs that go under the street. The bar and most of the restaurant is located underground, but there are a few intimate tables on the second floor. Pianeta serves sophisticated yet rustic modern Italian food like Ribollita and Pollo Arosto and excellent bread and wine. During busy seasons, make reservations, this place fills up fast.
