Tucson hotels encompass everything from budget motor court lodges to sprawling golf resorts in the posh foothills. Of course, there is also the comfort of hotel chains, and you'll find plenty of them in Tucson, especially in the south of town near the airport.
But for unrivaled elegance and historical detail, the Arizona Inn rises to the top of the list. This is one of Tucson's oldest, and priciest, hotels, conveniently situated in the historic Blenman Elm neighborhood just east of the University of Arizona. The spacious suites are located on 14 acres of manicured grounds, which include rose gardens, citrus trees, and tennis courts.
Tucson, like its big brother to the North, Phoenix, is home to several high-end resorts that draw health-seekers and sun-worshipers from around the world. Loews Ventana Canyon Resort is one of the most luxurious of the Tucson resorts, with each bathroom famously equipped with miniature flat-screen TVs and a double-wide tub. Although not quite as posh, the Westward Look Resort has earned a high reputation for its excellent nature trails and on-site dining choices.
If you're looking for something a bit more intimate, Tucson offers many bed and breakfast establishments that are popular with visitors, including the charming Sam Hughes Inn, near the university, and downtown's Catalina Park Inn.
