- Although it can be a bit hard to find on your first visit, this Hare Krishna-operated vegetarian buffet at the Chaitanya Cultural Center is a great place to fill up on healthy and affordable eats. The buffet menu items are on a rotating schedule, with Thursday nights strictly Vegan. But you would never know you're missing anything from the natural flavors and carefully prepared meals at this small but filling buffet, which features a variety of entrees, rice dishes, salads, breads, and other veggie goodies. Before you leave, make sure and pay a visit to the peacocks and other exotic birds as they strut their stuff in the over-sized hutch near the entrance. The tranquil courtyard makes a perfect place for dinner on most nights. Even meat-lovers will enjoy the selection and relaxed atmosphere of this unique Tucson establishment.
