Dining by candlelight in one of Turin's romantic restaurants is an ideal location for a perfectly sumptuous place for any date. Turin and Piedmont are world famous for their fine wines, decadent fare and many of these restaurants offer an intimate atmosphere well suited to a great night out and more.
Turin is well-known for its wonderful cuisine, Caval d'Brons in Piazza San Carlo being a great example, and makes a great case for the city to be considered Italy's food capital due to the variety and uniqueness of the local dishes like e bagna cauda and fritto misto. The city is surrounded by Piedmont's agricultural acres that produces maize, rice, wheat and grapes, in fact there are some 160,000 acres of vineyards producing great wines such as Barolo and Barberesco. The Slow Food movement started here so the emphasis is on combining a number of different meats and vegetables whilst the cuisine is defined by its blend of flavours and tastes.
Don't forget to have a glass of Vermouth, created by Antonio Carpano in Turin over 200 years ago, as an apertivo before you start your evening.
