Description:

  • Built in 1567 as a 'pesthuis' or a pest house, the building that houses the Vredenburg Leeuwenbergh has been used by the French army and has also functioned as a church. The beautiful red-brick structure has sparkling white and modern-looking interiors, which serves as a brilliant contrast to the ancient and old-world appeal of the structure from outside. This facility is primarily used for jazz and classical music concerts, but they also accommodate 'experimental' and nouveau artists. The Vredenburg Leeuwenbergh can comfortably seat about 250 people and it also comes with facilities like special toilets and seats for the differently abled. Please see the website for further information.
