Nestled along Gore Creek, this property offers B&B intimacy and hotel service. While the property is relatively small, its 20 rooms are relatively large and feature a pleasant contemporary decor that doesn't get hung up on Western or ski themes. The property just underwent a $25-million upgrade, and it was money well spent. Located just a few steps from world-class skiing, dining, and shopping, all rooms have gas fireplaces, soaking tubs, and oh-so-comfy feather beds. Beyond the standard rooms, there are eight suites with two or three bedrooms, the latter of which measures a whopping 2,000 square feet. The facilities here are similarly first rate: Terra Bistro, the resident eatery, offers global fusion cuisine and some of the best tuna tartare in the Rockies; the health club features Vail's only indoor climbing wall; and the spa is frequented by local pros getting ready for ski season.
