• Arapaho Basin, or A-Basin as the locals call it, has all the friendly charm of a small ski area with some of the sickest above tree-line terrain in Colorado. Featuring a high percentage of expert runs, A-Basin has steep bumps, deep bowls and lifts that allow access to incredible out-of-bounds backcountry skiing and snowboarding. Operating for over 50 years, A-Basin's recently expanded Montezuma Bowl adds a whole new layer of exploration. There is no overnight lodging, which helps keep crowds down and the high elevation mean you still make turns on A-Basin's snow into late spring.
