Description:
Vail has no shortage of quality restaurants, with world-class cuisine available in just about every flavor. These ten restaurants are my personal favorite; some are high-end like Sweet Basil while others are pleasantly affordable such as Blue Moose Pizza. All of them have fantastic menus and great ambiance. For all tastes, Vail has a restaurant to please.

Excellent lunch menu and tasty meals.
Description:
This cozy restaurant bordered by the magnificent Gore Range serves contemporary American cuisine with a twist. A convenient stop for travelers, this restaurant has won Wine Spectator's coveted Award of Excellence for its extensive wine selection. Try the Corn Cakes with chanterelle mushrooms and baby vegetables and, without thinking twice, order the Warm Flourless Chocolate Five-Spice Cake with Coconut Sorbet for dessert. But, if you're in the mood for something more exciting, then the Hot Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake with fresh whipped cream and Myers' Rum sauce should definitely be devoured.

Our Local Expert Says:
Great burgers and a fun atmosphere. Good lunch spot in the winter or summer.
Description:
Most of the menu items at this Vail venue are made from scratch and served in huge portions. The appetizers are what put The Red Lion on the map - with 1" thick onion rings and nachos (beef or chicken) that are almost impossible to finish. The lunch and dinner menus offer Dry Smoked Ribs, Pulled Pork, and a BBQ sauce that is made in-house. Their Red and Green Chili is award-winning. They offer live entertainment, Bingo, and daily drink specials. Be sure to try their signature Lion's Bull!

Deep in the Rocky Mountains, the ocean makes its mark at the Montauk Seafood Grill. With some of the best seafood around, an extensive and award-winning wine menu, and experienced staff, this restaurant is a great choice for a memorable night out. The menu changes daily to highlight the best products available, with favorites such as the Hawaiian Ahi, seared rare and served with the Rock Shrimp and Vegetable Stir Fry. For something light, start off with the Tuscan Bread Salad or the selections from the Raw Bar- and make sure to save room for dessert such as the customer favorite, Sand Pie. There are both outdoor and indoor dining areas available, and the restaurant is child-friendly.

Description:
Larkspur is comfort. Dinners begin with appetizers like Celery Bisque and Salmon Carpaccio, proceed into entrees such as Black Truffle Lasagna and Porcini-Dusted Beef Tenderloin, and end with desserts like the Peanut Butter Brownie Napoleon or the 23 Karat Carrot Cake. Lunch is similarly great, but features a number of gourmet pizzas and sandwiches (as well as a whole new selection of desserts). A kids menu features high-end takes on burgers, mac & cheese and pepperoni pizza. A special bar menu brings out the kid in all of us (try the Truffle-Parmesan French Fries or DK's Texas Chili). The wine list is positively expansive, and many entries are available by the glass or the half bottle. Pop into Larkspur's onsite market for a range of specialty food items such as sandwiches, soups, salads, cheeses, rotisserie game birds, smooked meat and more.

Description:
The Left Bank is authentic French cuisine at its best. Appetizers include escargots, French onion soup and lobster bisque. Entrees are similarly traditional, though they make liberal use of fresh local ingredients (note the roasted rack of Colorado lamb). Seafood fans will swoon over the bouillabaisse of lobster, shrimp, scallops and mussels. Meat lovers will marvel at the Veal Rossini, a milk-fed veal chop topped with a generous helping of sauteed foie gras. Seasonal specialties include quail, halibut, steaks and more. Save room for the elegant desserts as well: choose from peaches on puff pastry, chocolate souffle, sorbet and others.

Description:
A small restaurant with simple setting, Osaki's is an obvious choice for sushi and traditional Japanese cuisine when in Vail. Special Osaki rolls are a must try. The dishes served here are a bit on the expensive side but worth it for the authenticity and the guaranteed fresh ingredients. the place is very cozy with a very unique atmosphere. Do call for open hours before you head to Osaki's, since the seating is quite limited.

If you enjoy steak and sea food then this place is definitely a must-go. Jumbo prawn and lobster lovers will not be disappointed at this joint. In addition, this place has a list of red as well as white wine to choose from, some of them at a reasonable price. A great place to eat especially after a long day of outdoor activities. The place also has the largest salad bar in town for all those who believe in healthy eating.
