When hockey is in season, you can bet that most places around the city will be showing the Canucks game, whether it's home or away. We Canadians love our hockey, but we're also into many other sports and when there's a game on, there's no shortage of fun places to go and kick back, grab a pint and cheer on your team.
Red Card Sports Bar on Seymour Street has many qualities about it that makes it our number one pick. For one, the sleek interior is different than your average sports bar, the specials they have on a regular basis make it easy on the wallet and the pizza there is out of this world. The wood-oven they have bakes up perfect, thin crust pizzas that will entice your not-so-sport-loving companions to join you at Red Card.
Steamworks never fails to gather crowds, especially on game night. Located right beside Waterfront Station, Vancouver's main Seabus, Skytrain and Canada Line connection, it makes getting to and from Steamworks incredibly easy and quick. Spread across a few different levels, Steamworks also offers fantastic views of the North Shore.
Over on the other side of town is the Yaletown Brew Pub, as us locals call, or YTB. There is a restaurant on one side and a pub on the other with pool tables, a long bar and a huge wood-burning fireplace. The Brew Pub gets winning points for their beer that they craft in house that you can order while you watch the game.
The Morrissey scores major points for being one of Granville Street's best watering holes. Everything from the design, beer and wine list and food menu create the perfect atmosphere to go with friends to watch the game and stay for the night. There's always a great crowd at the "M"!
