Hip Nightlife in Vancouver

  • Hip is always a bit of a difficult thing to pin down because it all depends on what scene you're into and what kind of night you're going for. Vancouver seems to be full of "hip" places to go at night and whatever strikes your fancy, will likely be found in this city.

    If you're looking to check out some music or hit a dance floor with the cool kids in town, head to the Astoria where hipsters get their drink on and dance the night away. The Astoria has been around for eons and it's certainly not going anywhere, any time soon. Other favorites for live music are the Commodore and the Vogue where you will catch the latest emerging bands and current favorites.

    If those dancing shoes are just staring at you to be taken out for the night, Honey is calling! The interior is slightly dated, but that adds to the charm and people never cease to stop coming to this joint. It's a little smaller than your average club/bar, but that's what's nice about it.

    If you're looking for a more chic crowd, George Ultra Lounge in Yaletown is a lovely spot to go for a perfectly crafted cocktail and mingle with other young urban professionals. Another great spot for cocktails and a nice crowd is the Diamond in Gastown. The atmosphere is cool and the cocktails are crisp! It's an ideal spot to grab a nibble and some drinks with friends.

    If you really love your cocktails, The Refinery on Granville Street mixes some of the best cocktails in the city. Their menu is extensive and they make many of their own tinctures in house to compliment your favorite poison.

    Wherever there is buzz in Vancouver, means you will likely find the latest hip place to be, but this list is made up of some pretty solid spots that have stood the test of time to attract a good crowd.
