Vancouver Water Sports

  • Vancouver is a city that's surrounded by water and it makes perfect sense that while you're here, you get out on the water and take advantage of the many beaches around the city.

The most popular beach in Vancouver is Kits Beach in Kitsilano. This place is always buzzing with groups of friends that have come to play some volleyball, Frisbee, catch and swim in the waters. If you're looking for something a little more low-key, Jericho and Spanish Banks are going to be more up your alley. During the long summer days, an evening picnic is the perfect way to end a day of sun, sand and water and catch the stellar views of downtown Vancouver, the mountains and watch the sun set across the bay. Exquisite!

On a hot day, you need to cool off in some fresh water and the REO Rafting Adventure Resort is a fun place to take care of business. Blaze down the river, and get your adrenaline is tossing and turning as you go up and down through the rapids.

Another way to enjoy the water is to rent a boat from Bonnie Lee Fishing Charters. British Columbia is home to some of the word's best seafood and there's nothing more satisfying than going out and catching your own dinner. Just make sure you get yourself the appropriate license to catch your fish, crab or prawns.

There's nothing like feeling the sand below your feet, or water against your skin on a hot day and luckily for you, all of that can be yours while in Vancouver.
