- This hotel had its grand opening in 1899, but has been renovated since then to update its facilities and rooms. Not a place one would recommend their mother to stay, however if you're into a budget location that is very artsy and bohemian then this is the place. A special bonus is the hotels proximity to one of Vancouver's favourite restaurants, Chambar. Located directly in the Gastown district, the historical establishment has a Victorian style and European air. The deep red facade has intricate white detailing that creates a feeling of elegance and heritage.
