• Description:

    • Japadog is a Vancouver phenomenon because they have taken the city's love of Japanese flavors and paired them with another favorite treat; the mighty hot dog. What started as a single stand on the corner of Burrard and Smithe, has now grown into a city-wide domination of the "street meat" scene. During the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games, Japadog was featured on the Today Show and as a result, drew even more than usual crowds. It's not uncommon to wait a half hour in line during peak hours, but they have a cult following that swear by these hot dogs.  For those that like to stick to an old classic, you can get your standard hot dog or veggie dog. If you're feeling a little more adventurous, try a jalepeno and cheese sausage, a bratwurst or a smokie! But, if you're going to Japadog, you should really try one of their specialties; the Oroshi and the Spicy Cheese Terimayo are the most popular items on the menu. They have recently opened up a store on Robson Street and where Japadog builds, the people always come.
