Perched on Ferguson Point overlooking English Bay, the Teahouse in Stanley Park is one of Vancouver's most venerable seaside landmarks. The menu sticks with safe tourist choices and a selection of what trendy Vancouverites are eating these days. Appetizers include wok-fried squid with Thai chiles and oyster sauce, and mushrooms stuffed with crab, shrimp, and cream cheese. Main courses are divided between seafood and meat, with pasta and risotto thrown in for good measure. The view is perhaps more memorable than the food, and after the sun fades, the lights cast a magical glow on the trees and garden. Try for a seat on the outdoor patio or at a window-side table in the conservatory.
