• Cannaregio is the northern district of Venice which lies across the railway. It is home to the city's old Jewish ghetto and the Casino's winter venue. This bar is a far cry from the usual taverns one expects to find in this area. It has tried to move away from the traditional Venetian style opting for a more international flavor. The defining point is undoubtedly the high-tech interior. A row of video games is coupled with an array of more sedate board games. The bar's average customer is no older than 25 and as yet it remains relatively tourist-free. Its opening hours begin late in the evening and it serves up quick meals as well as a variety of drinks including the usual gin, vodka and martini cocktails. The panini are filled up with various meats and sauces served on 'continental' bread. The sandwiches are made from soft Venetian bread, and sweet and savory crepes are also available.
