  • NileGuide Expert tip:

If you don't want to deal with the public Vaporetto and/or the trains, consider taking a private water taxi straight from the hotel to and from the airport. It costs roughly 100 euros, but it saves times, considerably reduces the hassle factor, and is the most elegant way to arrive.

  • Description:

    • This incredible palazzo, a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, has an interior that will take your breath away. Formerly the residence of one of Venice's most prominent merchant families, and dating back to the 15th century, this National Monument houses important artworks from Venetian masters of the 17th and 18th centuries. The 42 rooms are extremely well-appointed, and the suites are truly stunning, with ceiling frescoes, drawing rooms, and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Plus, the location can't be beat---right on the Grand Canal, adjacent to the famous Ca' D'Oro (which also happens to be a water taxi stop) and the Campo Santa Sofia. In the heart of Canareggio, it's convenient to both the train station, the Rialto Market, and many great choices for food and nightlife. The friendly front desk staff can also recommend top selections for various local cuisine, and will help arrange local transport to and from the airport or for day trips around the lagoon. The Bar L'Incontro sits right on the canal, and the L'Alcova Restaurant serves sumptuous dinners. All in all, the Ca' Sagredo serves up a premier small luxury hotel experience, in the most classically historical setting imaginable.
