Description:
Once upon a time, Venetians brought their visiting friends here to make a bella figura (good impression) without breaking the bank, and then swore them to secrecy. Well, the secret is out, and the prices have surely crept up, roughly coinciding with a change in ownership in 2006. Still, it is a very pleasant setting and the meal is just as appetizing as ever in this small, casually elegant trattoria with great, fresh fish. (When a restaurant is filled exclusively with French tourists, you know the cuisine can't be bad.) Try the traditional bisato in umido con polenta (braised eel), or, for a less-daring but excellent choice, you can't go wrong with the grilled orata (John Dory). This and Trattoria da Fiore are the most reasonable choices for an authentic Venetian dinner of fresh fish; careful ordering needn't mean much of a splurge either.

Ok, if you want to taste what Venetians eat at home. Don't expect anything special. Service could be quite slow, if place is crowded.
