Tucked away in Cannaregio, one of the quietest neighborhoods, lies the Jewish Ghetto with the quaint Museo Ebraico (Hebrew Museum) in the center square. While not immense in size, the humble Hebrew Museum offers a tour through some of the works and objects of Jewish life, such as spice holders, silver, goblets, jugs, basins and drapes for the Torah. A solemn tribute to the history of that quarter of the city, the Museo Ebraico and the surrounding synagogues and Holocaust memorials transport you away from the city to reflect on the persecution and devout faith of these people.
