This XVII Century lighthouse is set where the Convent and Church of Saint Francis of Assisi was, along with a 30meters high tower.. In here, Benito Juarez proclaimed the Reform Laws, changing forever the face of Mexico.By the end of the XIX Century the convent housed the Library of the city, and in the tower, a lighthouse from England was installed.
In 1968 the place was declared Ground of Mexican History.
