• This informal bistro lies in an 18th-century building overlooking the western facade of the palace at Versailles. Orange and apricot tones prevailing in the main dining room evoke an autumnal theme. The chef prepares an appetizing array of dishes, including specialties such as duck foie gras with caramelized apples or salmon smoked with birch branches. For a main course, we'd recommend such dishes as fresh sole or sautéed scallops in a parsley sauce. A seasonal specialty is wild doe with chestnuts. For dessert, there are such grand choices as a soufflé flambé with mandarin oranges or omelet Norwegian (called baked Alaska in the U.S.).
