Description:

  • Orpheus is one of Vienna's oldest Greek restaurants that has always been run by "real" Greeks. In the spacious rooms you will sit at beautiful black wooden tables, and the large old chandeliers are quite remarkable, too. Accessories, of course, are in white and blue, the national colors of Greece, but in a discreet way and without any kitsch. The place is popular with all age groups; occasionally you can listen to live music here. The owner of the restaurant is from Crete, and this seems to have a positive effect on the menu. It doesn't only offer the traditional Souvlaki and Moussaka, but also less-known specialties like Agriopita (a strudel filled with Cretan wild-vegetables). The products are always fresh, many of them imported by the owner himself. That's why you can take away delicious products from the sunny South like thyme-honey or mountain-tea.
