Kahlenberg Guided Nature Walk from Vienna

Description:

  • One of the world's first cogwheel trains travels up the Kahlenberg to 1,588 feet (484 meters) above sea level. After a steep ascend from the Danube, enjoy a relaxing hike with magnificent views. Visit the Josefskirche where an inscription commemorates the Polish Relief Army that helped rescue Vienna during the Turkish siege in 1683. Continue through forests and vineyards before ending your hike in one of Vienna's typical Heurigen (wine tavern).

Ascend and Descend: 984 feet (300 meters) each way.
