Description:
- Established in 1177 by the Irish Benefictines, this Roman Catholic Church's name means "Irish Church" (Ireland being known at the time as "New Scotland"). Extensive renovations were made during the years 1638-1648 and the outcome is todays baroque architectural style. For those interested in medieval art, there is a church museum which houses many exquisite pieces including the Schotten altarpiece dating back to 1475. Directly next door to the church there is a Monk's residence.
