Stammersdorf

Description:

  • The northern part of Vienna, separated off from the main city by the Danube, is known locally as Trans-Danubien. Created by the rapid urban development, this once rather poor part of town has made a strong recovery. The wine shops in Stammersdorf and Strebersdorf, however, remain for the most part just as they have always been: quite simple. Few tourists come here, and prices are much cheaper than in Grinzing. Take a walk in the Kellerstraße; here there are small houses with subterranean wine cellars where the wine is stored until it is mature enough to drink.
