The Hotel San Martín's spotless guest rooms bear a whiff of '50s modern with clean lines, polished wood, and chrome fixtures, but the salmon pink or floral bedspreads and coordinated drapery may prove too fusty and garish for those with minimalist tastes. At these prices, it's worth paying extra for the terra-cotta-hued suites, which are more sophisticated and spacious. Double rooms here are tight; if you need a lot of room consider their suites or opt against staying here. Light sleepers should also be forewarned that there is a lack of effective soundproofing; noise from the street and the beach can be particularly bothersome, day and night. Polished parquet floors with carpet runners and halogen lighting lend the hotel's public spaces coziness. The hotel has five rooms adapted to wheelchair users. Only the north wing has sea views, and those rooms come at a higher price. The hotel's central location is very convenient; and, while there's no pool, with the beach at your feet, who needs one?
