Kalalau Valley Lookout - Waimea
  • Type: Nature & Wildlife
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

If you are an experienced outdoorsman (woman) with a passion for nature, this trip will change your life.

  • Description:

    • For experienced adventurers with a wish to live life on the edge, it is hard to beat the experience in Kalalau Valley. With the proper permits, hikers can hike the torrential 11 mile trail into Kalalau Valley, where they can camp, hike, fish, drink from fresh water springs and revel in the awesome beauty of the largest valley on the Na Pali Coastline. This valley was inhabited until 1919, and hikers that wish to venture up into the valley can still see the rock structures and waterways that are intact even to this day! Remember, this is for experienced hikers, and should never be attempted in the rain, but is one of the most rewarding adventures available on Kauai.
