- Launching a fashionably furnished wine bar with a nice range of nibbles just off Warsaw's historic Royal Route is a sure-fire recipe for success. At least, that was what Krakow-based wine-importer Vinarius hoped for by opening its first outpost in the capital. Its blond-wood tables and floors and illuminated white bar tables are pure Nordic chic, but the cream-colored vaulted ceilings, frescoed walls boasting artful animals and forms suggest cosmopolitan aspirations. Near the entrance, there are cases and large shelves packed with several dozen bottles of wine, many of them interesting, well-priced French wines from the Languedoc region. To sample with a light lunch or dinner, guests can select from a sizable order-by-glass list which is complimented a variety of finger-foods and mains. - Anna J. Kutor
