- The mood at Nanny O'Brien's is authentically Irish, from the cozy narrow space to the warm social atmosphere, the pub has a neighborhood feel. Best of all, local bands play good folk, bluegrass and Irish music on Wednesday through Saturday evenings. Often, the crowd is invited to join in. There is the standard pub food here, but it seems to have a special, home-cooked flavor. Grilled cheese, rich chowders and Irish stew are favorites. Of course, the traditional Irish dish, corned beef and cabbage, is also served.
