On the same street as The Red & The Black, above, the R&R opened first, attracting devoted music lovers and night crawlers to come shoot pool in its second-floor pool hall, listen to live bands in its 400-person concert hall, or toss back shots in its bar. Washingtonians are loving the punk-rock decor of vintage furniture and flying guitars, but most especially the nightly acts, which range from local garage bands to national groups on tour. FYI: "Hotel" is just part of the name, no sleeping here. Drive here or take a taxi.
