  • You could go to a different bar, club and pub in DC every night for a year and still not experience all that the city's nightlife has to offer. With a demographic this wide ranging (from politicos to college students, media darlings to diplomats), there are bound to be a lot of nighttime entertainment options at your disposal.

The U Street Corridor and Columbia Heights are among the most vibrant neighborhoods in the city after dark. Georgetown, Adam's Morgan and Arlington are also home to popular clubs and watering holes.

    Some spots to consider:

Cork - arguably one of the city's very best wine bars, with a prime location on bustling 14th Street, a varied wine list and delicious small plates help you soak up whatever you imbibe.

Fur - get yourself gussied up and get ready to do a lot of dancing and people watching at this hot club, which features constant guest DJs and weekend events.

Nanny O'Brien's - more than a few Irish ex-pats have declared the Guinness at this Cleveland Park pub to be the finest in the city. Try for yourself, and stay for the live entertainment.

Nightclub 9:30 - DC's most esteemed live music club, with both famous and up-and-coming acts on the bill all the time. You'll probably need to buy your tickets in advance.

Halo - Chill out and sip drinks with DC's best-dressed gay men at this Thomas Circle spot.
