There are many places - plus top-name chefs and favorite dishes - making the Washington restaurant scene better than ever. Try Sushi Taro, which offers "kaiseki," a traditional Japanese dining experience in which diners let the chef entertain them with a series of surprises. We also like Corduroy. In March 2008, Corduroy, with chef Tom Power steady at the helm, moved from its perch inside the Four Points Sheraton Hotel to its own place in the up-and-coming convention center neighborhood.
It's almost impossible to find a bad meal in downtown, as some of the world's most renowned chefs occupy unique corners and bring fresh flavors to the scene. Some of the newest stars of the downtown scene include CityZen, which features the inventive cuisine of Chef Eric Ziebold, and Rasika, which offers five-star Indian fare. Zaytinya, a Mediterranean concept restaurant from Chef Jose Andres, is perfect for a palate craving meals inspired by Turkey, Greece, Spain, and Italy.
Our list below includes but a few of Washington's outstanding restaurants. Dig in to our restaurant listings for even more tasty ideas for dining out in the District.
