The Best of NileGuide
- Boutique or B&B? Classic or casual? In Washington, your accommodation options are limitless. So how do you decide? Consider a few factors: Modern - A slew of funky, modern spots like Hotel Palomar, Hotel Rouge and The George have cropped up in recent years. Boutique hotels are plentiful in DC, and provide guests with a unique (and often luxurious) experience while maintaining a cozy and intimate vibe. Grand Standards - Who wouldn't want to check out the Watergate Hotel? It's famous for bringing down an entire presidency, and also situated right at the crossroads between Georgetown and Foggy Bottom, which makes for convenient itinerary planning. Also consider the Mayflower downtown, or one of the three(!) Ritz-Carltons in the DC area. B&Bs - Bed & Breakfasts are tucked in almost every corner of the city, and increase in prevalence once you get beyond the Beltway. If you want to stay in the thick of the action, consider spots in Dupont Circle or Adams Morgan Dupont Circle both are stuffed with beautiful B&Bs like the Inn at Dupont Circle. Further afield, B&Bs in Virginia's wine country are a good option. They allow you to enjoy the rolling countryside (and a glass or two of the area's finest vintage) without the worry of getting back into town afterward. And if you're a congressman, you could always stay on C Street for free!
