  • This beautiful old federal front rowhouse built in 1902, just after the turn of the century, is furnished with lovely family pieces from the 30's and 40's, which gives you the feeling of visiting grandmother's house.The living room features a working fireplace and guest are invited to use the beautiful French Quarter style patio and enjoy the fountains and fish ponds, located directly off the living room. A complimentary continental plus breakfast is provided from 11PM till 11AM daily. Three room all with private baths, along with off street parking for guest traveling by car, are available. Telephones and televisions are standard in each guest room. Nestled between the Capitol South and Eastern Market metro stations, the house is a block and a half south of Pennsylvania Avenue @ 5th Street SE and just a few door from a police sub station. Eastern Market , a produce and farmers market, is just around the corner. The US Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, and Smithsonian museums are just five blocks away and easily walkable. In the November 2008 edition of Conde'Nest Traveler magazine the Maison Orleans was chosen as one of the best bed and breakfast in Washington DC. In addition the Maison Orleans just celebrated its 20th anniversary over the Labor Day weekend.
