Description:
In March 2008, Corduroy, with chef Tom Power steady at the helm, moved from its perch inside the Four Points Sheraton Hotel to its own place in the up-and-coming convention center neighborhood. Cheffing at Corduroy since 2000, Power has built a following in this food-mad city, where diners can tell you exactly how many stars the best restaurants have been awarded by local food critics. Corduroy received three stars and came in at #17 out of 100, in the Washingtonian magazine's 2008 ranking of the city's top restaurants. Pretty amazing. Fans have followed Power to his new digs in a historic town house, where the rooms are cozy and the kitchen is on display. Winning dishes here include prime rib-eye with lyonnaise potatoes, red snapper bisque, duck egg and leg salad, and strawberry tart with strawberry creamsicle. Corduroy was serving only dinner at the time of this writing, but expected to be adding lunch service soon.
