Description:
- Catoctin Mountain Park Visitor Center is open year-round from 10 AM - 4 PM. The center offers a small exhibit area featuring native wildlife and culture history. Charcoal Industry as related to the Catoctin Iron Furnace located in neighboring Cunningham Falls State Park, Whiskey Still Industry, Sawmill Industry, and local farming are featured.
Permits for the Adirondack Shelters (year-round hike-in campsites) are issued free of charge at the visitor center on a first-come, first-served basis.
Information pertaining to the horse trail may be obtained from the visitor center.
The center is closed New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, President's Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
