Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Memorial Stadium

  • Type: Sports
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

Home of the Nationals and DC United, this is an older venue, but is a great place to see a game. For most baseball tickets $5-7 tickets are available that provide a great view.

  • Description:

    • Opened in 1961, this 26,169-seat outdoor stadium was home to the Washington Redskins until 1997, when the football team moved to a new, bigger stadium in the suburbs. RFK is still used regularly, however, primarily by the perennially strong DC United soccer club. The occasional international match is played here as well. In the summertime, the stadium is host to outdoor festivals, such as the recent Tibetan freedom concert and the popular HFStival (sponsored by local radio station WHFS and featuring alternative music).
