Rock Creek Bike Trail - Washington DC

  • Description:

    • Live in the D.C. neighborhoods of Adams-Morgan, Mount Pleasant, Cleveland Park, or Woodley Park? Try this excellent commuters route.

Depart Thompson's Boat House heading north from the mouth of Rock Creek where it joins the Potomac River. Take the bike path that runs immediately west of Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway. It is a 10-mile route heavily used on weekends by bikers and heavily used on weekends by Washington commuters. From the Pierce Mill parking lot, you may retrace the path back to Thompson's Boat House or continue on Beach Drive, which does permit weekday bike traffic, however, most bicyclists don't recommend taking the risk.
