Doing this hike in one day from the Rubble Creek parking lot makes for a long day --- it's more enjoyable to start from your camp at Taylor Meadows.

  • Description:

    • Black Tusk is such a visible and identifiable summit from so many locations in southwestern British Columbia that it is on the tick list of a large percentage of the area's hikers. The view from the top spreads the park before you: with Helm Lake and the Cinder Flats almost at your feet and the glistening summits of the Fitzsimmons Range farther off beyond Cheakamus Lake, with the matchless Garibaldi Lake and its ring of peaks and glaciers to the south, and with the mountains of the Tantalus Range away beyond the Squamish Valley in the southwest. © Copyright Jack Bryceland and Mary & David Macaree Published by Greystone Books.
