Description:

  • This trip takes you into the alpine terrain that stretches north-south for more than 30 km (19 mi) on the divide between the Squamish and Cheakamus Rivers. Although probably overlong for a day trip, an ascent of Mount Brew is straightforward from the lake. Apart from an ascent, the ridges are beautiful rambling country. To the south can be seen Howe Sound, the Stawamus Chief and even Shannon Falls. To the west are Tricouni Peak, Cypress Peak and the spectacular Mount Fee. Brew Lake itself is a very worthwhile objective, although you may well wonder as you struggle up this steep trail. © Copyright Jack Bryceland and Mary & David Macaree Published by Greystone Books.
