Hi - If you can make a note and get back to me at the end of September - I am going on a press trip to Whistler and I will find out firsthand for you exactly where such a thing might be obtained.

No promises made, none broken, but I will try to find out on your behalf.

Don't forget to contact me at the end of September again!

Best Regards,

Gregory

Even though you may already have visited Whistler, I am answering this in case it is a help to other travellers. Accommodations can be pricey at Whistler, as you may know. One option that a lot of skiers use is the Hosteling International NEW hostel. It has private rooms (as well as the usual shared accommodations), and was built specifically for the 2010 Olympics, so it is fairly state of the art when it comes to related amenities. Rooms go for about $135 (shared is almost one fourth that cost) and you have access to WIFI, a coffee shop, cooking facilities, etc. Families often stay at HI hostels. It's 8 km from the main part of Whistler. Unlike the previous hostel (which was in a gorgeous but remote location), it is totally accessible by bus, both from Whistler and from Vancouver. Having written on HI's Canadian hostels, I would rate Whistler's as a step up from the older NA versions, and more in line with the well maintained hostels of Europe.
