  • The Best of NileGuide
  • Upon arrival in Winnipeg, one must decide whether to travel by land or by water. Both are unique, and offer different perspectives of this beautiful city. If you’re looking for a guided excursion, Adventure Junkie Tours is one of the smaller but more unique groups. Custom tours can also be arranged through most of the tour companies that explore Winnipeg, and might be a good option if you’re traveling with small children. If you’re feeling adventurous, you may want to check out the themed tours or ones with overnights. First off is the Forks Market, a must see for all those traveling to Winnipeg. From here, check out the Historic Port, which is a good taste of what Old Winnipeg used to be like. There is a lovely paved path along the river here, perfect for an afternoon stroll. Once you’ve tired of the outdoors, head to Johnston Terminal, an old warehouse converted into cute boutique shops showcasing Winnipeg’s local artisans. You can also check out the Exchange District, which also has an amazing amount of local art, souvenirs, and odds and ends. If you’re traveling with small children, the Western Canada Aviation Museum and the Assiniboine Park Zoo are great attractions for the whole family.
