Planning a Trip

Getting There

Worcester is 2 miles north of the east-west Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) via I-290, which bisects the city. Driving can be tricky in Worcester, with the convergence of highways and its one-way streets; getting detailed directions to your destination is advised. Amtrak (tel. 800/USA-RAIL; www.amtrak.com) stops here daily each way on its route between Boston and Chicago.

Visitor Information

The Visitor Center is on the second floor of the Worcester Historical Museum, 30 Elm St. (tel. 508/755-7400; www.worcester.org).
